DISCOGRAPHY (Part 2)

This page is a "Work in Progress."
We plan to present a history of the musical efforts of the members of ORPHEUS REBORN
that is as complete as possible.
In most cases, copyright issues will prevent us from posting complete performances.
We will, however, post sound clips from them if they are available.

Some of these performances have been reclaimed from media that has suffered from
age or use, and thus may not be of optimal quality.

Writers, publishers and copyright acknowledgements have been presented when known.

March, 2010, set a new record - almost 34,000 plays for the sound clips on these pages! Click on the blue song titles to hear YOUR favorites! Each play "casts a vote" for that song in our Monthly Top 75 Chart!

All clips and songs are in .mp3 format.

Because of the volume of material and information, we've found it necessary to split this archive into several pages, and to provide navigation aids like the map below.

 Monkey Demon:

Steve Kaczorowski  -  album cut from What Time Are You?; United Artists Records (claimed, but bogus), 1971
Note on the two tracks above - the bizarre case of Steve Kaczorowski:
Steve Kaczorowski was a high school senior from Long Island who issued the album and cited himself as performer and songwriter in an effort to impress his friends. Apparently Big Green Pearl was re-recorded, but Monkey Demon (which he titled Monkey Demond) was an example of "karaoke rock," wherein Kaczorowski simply electronically deleted portions of the original recording from Orpheus 4, replacing Steve's voice with his own. Kaczorowski also claimed writers and publishers rights. The full story can be found at http://www.lysergia.com/LamaWorkshop/Kacz/lamaKacz.htm.
Jimi Goodwin  -  album cut from odludek entitled Keep My Soul In Song. Jimi Goodwin, bassist for the UK rock group
Doves, utilized Alan Lorber's orchestral track(s) from the original Orpheus 4 version of Monkey Demon as the basis for
        this song. Heavenly Recordings, 2014
 Rainbow Peddler:

Steve Drake  -  album cut from Cold Sweat; Odyssey Records (claimed, but bogus), 1976
This was actually another effort by our friend Steve Kaczorowski (see above); the track is another "karaoke rock" version.
The original Orpheus vocals can clearly be heard in the chorus.

Thanks to Patrick the Lama from http://www.lysergia.com for the Big Green Pearl and Rainbow Peddler Clips, above.
 Alan Lorber Orchestra:
The following compositions are not "covers" in the usual sense of the word, but are clearly pertinent and deserve to be included in this archive. Alan based these on the orchestration scores that he had written for certain Orpheus songs. We've provided links to the originals as well for purposes of comparison.
Echo Of The Night  -  This is based on the orchestration for The Dream.
Included in the CD reissue of The Lotus Palace on Ace Big Beat, 1997
Reissued as part of digital download package Infusions, Volume 2, Iris Music Group, 2010

Ever Been To Singapore?  -  This is based on the orchestration for Lesley's World.
Included on the CD Dancefloor Soloists Vol. 2, Iris Music Group, 2008

The Gospel Paul  -  This is based on the orchestration for By The Size Of My Shoes.
Included on the CD Here's A Song (You Might Have Missed), Vol. 9, Iris Music Group, 2008

Hollow In The Wind  -  This is based on the orchestration for Doorknob Song.
Included in the CD reissue of The Lotus Palace on Ace Big Beat, 1997
By The Size Of My Shoes by EMI Longitude Music (BMI)
All others by Interval Music, Inc. / Iris Properties, Inc.
